International Women's Day


March 8th is International Women’s Day. Here at Collage we believe equality is spread through education and that through representation and celebration of women we can inspire change, understanding and respect.

We would like to propose an art activity based on one of the women we’ve mentioned today - Frida Kahlo. We already know that she is known for drawing self portraits (images of herself). And she would often incorporate images of things that were important to her, that shaped her identity. Such as this piece:


In order to celebrate ourselves today, we would like to invite you to draw a self portrait of yourself surrounded by the things that make you who you are. The things that you think make you special, strong and unique! For people who do not see themselves as women, we invite you to draw a self portrait of yourself surrounded by all the important women in your life or the elements that you admire in them!
